As I sat down this morning, sipping from my hot cup of coffee and thinking about what my next post will be, the thoughts of my mum, currently on a trip flashed my head as we talked into the night the day before, talking about my dreams and she was giving me suggestions and ideas. Well, let me get to write....
First and foremost, I am thankful to God for giving me this wonderful people to call parents. I know I can't even write enough to express the amount of love and appreciation I have for them. They both take the same space in my heart. I would refer to "ME" here, to represent my siblings and myself.
Most times people often ask me, who do you love most? Your dad or mum? Hhmm! The answer is not far fetched at all, as my answer has always been, I LOVE THEM BOTH EQUALLY. So, I will be referring to both of them as they are both my inestimable jewel. I have always been looking forward to the day I am going to write so much lovely things about you two, this is the beginning. You have done wonderfully well. The legacy, principles and discipline you instilled in me has made me a greater and better person I am today.
My parents used everything they have to make sure we are well educated. I know most parents do, but hey, let me blow my parents' trumpet. They have invested in me and I can see the result of the investment in my relationship with people and the world at large. Not only have they made sure my siblings and I were educated, they have taught me the way of the lord, which is a very crucial part of my life. No amount of wealth or inheritance on earth can beat that. I will be writing on my faith journey soon, so watch out.
And to my amazing mum, my prayer warrior, my gist partner, my close and best friend whose prayers keeps me going every single day, who supports my dream all the way. I remember when she had to choose between the wealth of this world and me getting an education. Without thinking twice, ofcourse, she picked my education. She sacrificed EVERYTHING for me to get into a private school at a point in our lives where we were not financially buoyant. That selfless act always make me want to do more for her because I know she DESERVES it and much more. She sold her land property in Lagos to pay my school fees when daddy's job in NITEL at that time was not promising in the financial aspect, as he and his other colleagues were retired few years before the scheduled time.
I remember when daddy called me and my siblings one day. His voice can still be heard clearly in my head as I write, he said, things are not going well at work. Whatever level of education you want to achieve, I am here to support you and your siblings now that I am still in service. Make hay while sun shines. He said that, not even knowing that he would be retired few years before he had planned. So, the government couldn't maintain NITEL and it's workers and the rest is the history everyone is aware of.
My dreams became my parents dream, my passion became their passion and that is what has brought me to where I am today. I could go on and on but will like to keep it brief and concise.
#To be continued#.................💓
