There is a purpose attached to every
individual name. Names are mostly for identification and sometimes a name is
given based on a particular characteristic that one exhibits. Salvation is
found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by
which we must be saved “Acts 4:12”. This verse reveals the power and the
significance in the name of Jesus. The name of the lord is a strong tower, the
righteous runs in and they are saved “Prv18:10”
It is only in His name; can all believers find
salvation and be saved. As believers of Christ, there should be nothing
hindering us from calling His name. The name in this context
means authority. For example, when we do something “in the name of Jesus” we
mean that we do it by his authority (e.g. Luke 24:47, Acts 2:38, Acts 3:6).
There is power in the name of Jesus that can
break every chain of failure, rejection, sickness, guilt and of course death
only if we can believe.

It’s
true, Jesus could have saved Himself from such a painful death. If He had
simply said, I’m not the Son of God, I’m just the son of a carpenter, they
would have let Him go. Likewise, He was capable of calling upon all of the
angels in heaven to come down and defend Him. With their power and might
the earth would have easily been destroyed.
But
Jesus didn’t do either of those things. Instead, He obeyed his father and did
as the Father asked, left behind the glory of heaven, humbled Himself and
became a servant. He did it for you and for me, so we could live with Him
forever.
Because of His compassion and the great love he has for us, He
gave Himself up to face such worse situation! And for that sacrifice, God
rewarded him with the title, He exalted Him and gave Him the name which is
above all names “Phil 2:9”. He is the only one worthy of this title. He alone
is worthy of our praise.
When
our father in Heaven has exalted him above all His creations, shouldn’t we do
the same? Jesus accomplished salvation and received the worship
of all creation. At that name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in
heaven, and in earth, and things under the earth. “Phil 2:10”.Even the
winds and the sea bowed to him “Matt 8:27”
“There is no other name under heaven given
among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).He
is the only Mediator between God and man.
(Acts 4:12, Phil 2:9-11).
