I fell in love with mint since I was a child, anything "minty" gives me clarity. Peppermint oil is actually used for a wide variety of uses. My top five ways of using peppermint are discussed below:
1) Combats headache : You can make a home remedy of peppermint-lemon headache oil. Majority of the times we have stressed induced headaches, when this happens, the first thing for me is to look for natural ways to soothe my aching head, if you use this blend at the start of your aching head, it will be gone in no time unless the headache has really kicked in and doctor's visit might be required.(Here is the link to the peppermint oil I purchased from Amazon) organic peppermint oil.
Recipe
1 ounce carrier oil (15ml)
6 drops lemon essential oil (this can be omitted as peppermint alone is good enough)
5 drops peppermint essential oil.
In a 1-ounce bottle with a roller top, combine the carrier oil with the essential oils, and shake to blend.
Once this mixture is done, rub your forehead, your neck, the back of your head if you feel heaviness there and even on the soles of your feet. It works!
2) As a topical oil on the skin: peppermint oil is an astringent, that means It helps to tighten the appearance of your skin pores. It soothes redness and itchiness. It is invigorating in nature. As much as this is good for the skin, it should not be used singly. Always dilute with a carrier oil. I actually love and used this formula when my daughter was stung by a bee. It helped calm the redness area.
3) Peppermint as a sleep inducer: when I first got this oil, it was intended for inducing sleep. I added about 5 -6 drops into my bath and it has got amazing cooling smell that helps my muscles to relax. The menthol component of peppermint relieves stress and anxiety, which both add up to allowing you to gain more restful sleep. You can put some few drops in the diffuser and allow the menthol to circulate round the house, you can also pop few drops on your pillow and inhale all through the night.
4) For respiratory benefits: peppermint oil helps to de-block your airways. It can mixed with any carrier oil of choice. Rub on chest and enjoy the coolness of the minty menthol. It works quicker and cheaper.
5) Peppermint oil is an incredible natural energy booster: It will wake you up and liven your senses when inhaled. Spray a little around your workspace and enjoy the liveliness it brings. It has been helping me to de-clutter my head and equally gives me clarity.
Let me know if you have tried these amazing tips or how you have used peppermint oil in your routine.
Xoxo!
